Dear Friends,

An update from the last few summer weeks:

As we reached the crest of the hill outside Yakima, WA we new it was going to be a pivotal time for us. For one thing we were used to the temperatures being in the 60’s and all of a sudden the heat was turned up and it was in the 100’s! It took us about a week to adjust to the heat. We set up in Naches, WA on June 28 at the Tree of Life Christian Center’s parking lot. After erecting the tent on “Walz Power” again, we started 10 days of meetings. As mentioned earlier, it was so hot that by the time we finished worship we were totally soaked with sweat and so drained we could barely preach! Things improved however, and the meetings went well. If you’ve been reading our updates you know that we have taken a step out as far as healing and miracles and have changed our mindset from small time “getting by” Christianity to overcoming and sometimes reckless trust in the Creator. This has had it’s rewards and hardships. We saw a person genuinely healed of a lung condition and many emotional healings as people allowed Father God to become their true Father and let down their walls and facades. It was a truly pivotal time!

The conference hosted by Tree of Life was a great success and we enjoyed it immensely. There were many good things that came out of it and we are blessed to have been a part. The church family there was so gracious to our family; it was a real treat to work with them.

We are on our way to Campbell River, B.C. CAN right now and would appreciate your prayers for safety as we cross the border and ride the ferry to Vancouver Is. The Youthfest is going to be fun! Look for Theron at the Worship Workshop along with Luke Nielsen, it promises to be illustrious.

Dear Friends, Finally- Here's a summary of the Tent Meetings in Eureka, CA. We've been recuperating and getting things repaired the last weeks, so here goes!

Week One: Intercession. We prayed and broke the ground in the Spirit first, then worshipped for seven days. There was sparse attendance, much spiritual opposition and lots of middle-of-the-night security issues, but decent freedom as far as our worship was concerned.

Week Two: More worship, beginning teaching on the Father's Embrace. Lots of Homeless people begin attending meetings. Still sparse overall attendance. Christmas was during this time. We had a Christmas Eve service and meal. Over the two day period we provided about 95 full meals, served over 50 espresso's and gave away lots of free tunes. Cheryl did most of the cooking with some help from the homeless people staying in the old truck stop.

Week Three: Increasing attendance, people beginning to open up to Holy Spirit. Lots of strongholds still being revealed, some people are getting set free and are increasing in exuberance for the Lord. On New Years Eve we had a local band called "One Accord" headlining for the all night party. We served espresso, the famous cheese dip, veggies and Carpeling Spider (Sparkling Cider, for the uninitiated). That night we also had communion with chips and sparkling cider to welcome in the new year.

Week Four: Wild worship, decent attendance. Many receive healing and deliverance. On the last night we were privileged to have the band from Calvary Christian Center in Fortuna lead in worship. Their sensitivity to the Spirit was a pleasure and put a fitting exclamation point on the whole month.

About the Area:::

Humboldt County is probably the craziest place we have ever been in our ten years of ministry! Rumor has it that there are 5,000 homeless in this county; and at least half of them passed through the tent at some time in our four weeks here. We tried to not get too bogged down in the "homeless question", but it inadvertently came up throughout the meetings and proved to be both the main adversity and biggest fruit.

When we arrived at the site, we found that four homeless folks had been living in the old truck stop behind the tent area. The owner was okay with it, so we just laid down the law of no alcohol or drugs. By the time we were done there were seven or eight living there. The first night at 1AM of the tent being set up a group of teens tried to untie the ropes on the tent. Theron caught them and was able to rectify it before they did any real damage. One of our Heartbeat of Jesus identifying signs was stolen.... then the wind came....... Did it ever blow! Confirmed reports of 95MPH gusts were received and the tent stood! (with a lot of middle-of-the-night rope tightening)

After about two weeks we had another sound system item stolen and then our other "Tent Meeting" sign was stolen. Not that these thefts were huge, but there is a real atmosphere of danger and lawlessness over the area where we had the tent, so we were always looking around our shoulder for safety! There was an incident of gang violence down the street from the tent and numerous other crazy happenings, too.

It was however, a good setup, great fun and a real eye opener!

Testimonies:::

"Fran" (not her real name) stumbled into the tent on the first night drunk and homeless. She said she was drawn into the tent by the music, received prayer and healing from the Lord, exchanged street living for the building with the other "guests", and has been clean and sober since that first day! She is following the Only Way now, and is living in a ministry house.

David rode up on his "Harley Bicycle" the second week and ended up also staying in the building (known as Al's hotel instead of the former Al's truck stop, by now) He was trying to get his driver's license and needed somewhere to be in God's presence for a while. You gotta see his bike!

There have been several other people who are in the same boat and are serious about making changes in their lives. We have really put a lot of effort into them and are trusting that the seed we have sown will take root and bear fruit in the future.

One evening when Allen and Cheryl were praying for a lady, Cheryl placed her hand on the woman's bad knee and felt movement all around her kneecap. After a while she was able to dance in worship to the Lord. Being unable to dance before Him before, she was elated!

News!!!

There will be a wedding in the tent is Coos Bay! Grandma Betty, whom our family has adopted as honorary Grandmother, has found her true love in Ross and will be getting married in the tent on Feb. 25. They have asked us to do worship, perform the wedding, and also for Shiloh to dance. We are all very excited for both of them!

We will also be holding meetings from Feb. 19 - March 5, 2006.

Other News:::

It's been a long and tough recovery from the heart attack for Allen. He's had both setbacks and wonderful miracles in the last seven months and is mostly recovered now. Still tiring easily, he can't do quite the physical work he could do before, but is very happy to be alive and mobile.

The Heartbeat of Jesus Ministries is in a new season. It would be nice to be able to put a name and actual description to it, but apparently we are to just do what the Lord says and no more. We are not planning to travel long distances this year (i.e. To Texas and back), though we have invitations to go to the Gulf coast at the moment. With fuel as high as it is right now and the strain it puts on Allen, it just doesn't seem logistical. But, God is not always logistical of course!

What we are sensing is that it's time to look for a ministry base to travel out from, instead of constantly being on the move. We feel that we can be much more effective by doing 6-8 months of tent ministry and 4-6 months of home time; though at the moment we are going forward one tent setup at a time until the Lord prompts. The ministry base has many facets, which we will share at another time. Please be in prayer with us on this issue.

Communication Glitches:::

Our outgoing servers have been down for a few weeks, hence the reason you haven't received a reply to your emails. Our tech guru (who sometimes procrastinates) is hot on the gremlin's trail, it should be done in the next few days. Our apologies!

Website Updates:::

We will be posting a testimony page on our website soon and would like you to take a few moments to jot down how the Lord has changed your life through this ministry. Check the homepage for the link soon.

Love from the Fam:::

We do so love you! Truthfully, you help to make this ministry possible and are fellow harvesters and planters alongside of us. We value your friendship and prayers more than anything and are privileged to know you. If there is any way we can serve you, please let us know....... Please stay in touch!

Thank you and our Lord and King! He is the Only Way!

"Calling all Tent Warriors!" Revival on Broadway is here! Update from the Walz Family

Here's the News:

We met a friend in Eureka the other day whom we hadn't seen since we've been here. In the course of the conversation between him, Allen & Theron, it came up that he knows a man who owns property in Eureka on Hwy 101. He offered to call him to see if he would be interested in letting us set up the tent there for the Holidays and have meetings. Of course we said yes and almost immediately we got the site!

The area is a perfect location for the tent and we all feel that it's God that we are there. As soon as Theron walked on the property he said he felt the presence of the Lord and that it was right. Almost everyone in the city drives by there at some point in the day so there will be great visibility as well.

We feel there are four purposes for us being here.

  1. God is wooing Humboldt & Mendocino Counties to Him and a fire of revival will originate there someday to encompass all of N. California and S. Oregon.

  2. The calling in of wayward and lost souls to the Kingdom.

  3. To support local believers in building the gates of praise in the area. There will be local worship bands as well as the Pneumati Band leading in worship throughout the meetings.

  4. Christmas. There are many in Eureka who have nowhere to go for Christmas and want a safe place to celebrate. We will be having both a Christmas Eve Dinner and a New Year's Party. Time's TBA and all are welcome!

If you come for the Christmas Eve Dinner, please bring your favorite dish and a gift for our guests of honor.
